The long view
A year ago Anthropic was still raising money privately: a $13 billion Series F in September 2025 valued it at $183 billion, funded by ICONIQ, Fidelity and sovereign wealth investors, with no public listing on the table. This week Anthropic pushed its IPO from October to November 2026, chasing a $2 trillion valuation and up to $100 billion raised, delayed partly to show Q3 numbers against OpenAI's Astra and partly by the safety-pacing pledge Amodei made the same week last year's round closed out. If this holds, Anthropic goes public within about fourteen months of that private round, at roughly eleven times the valuation.
